Notre Dame Tacurong College

HISTORY

NDTC was established as a co-educational high school in 1950 by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) Fathers. In 1957 the girls were entrusted to the Dominican Sisters while the boys were left to the care of the Oblates. Responding to the clamor of the community, the Oblates opened the college together with the elementary department. In 1974, the Marist Brothers took over the administration. Five years after, in 1980, the Dominican Sisters came to administer the College. NDTC observed its Golden Jubilee year in 2000. In 2002, the Archdiocese of Cotabato gave the administration of the college to the Diocesan Clergy of Cotabato after the Dominican Sisters have completed the 20 year stint at NDTC.

The coming of the Diocesan Clergy of Cotabato (DCC) in 2002 ushered in the fourth wave of NDTC history. Rev. Fr. Jose Colin Bagaforo, DCC was installed as the 8th President of NDTC and the first Diocesan Clergy to head the NDTC. Determined and creative, Fr. Colin effected massive facelifting of the institution. EXCEL, the NDTC core values was formulated and the new vision was adopted to blend the institution with the Diocesan culture and mission.
